Obituary for William H. Rous Jr.

William H. Rous Jr., 70, of Bloomington, passed away June 4, 2019 at his home.

His memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Home Sweet Home Ministries.

Bill was born August 1, 1948 in Chicago, a son of William H. and Shirley A. Rous. He married Kathleen M. McGrath on January 29, 1971 and she survives in Bloomington.

Also surviving are two children, Amy (Josh) Oberts of Normal and Brian (Sherry) Rous of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Caitlyn, Ethan, and Lillian Rous; and two sisters, Bonnie (Don) Phillips of St. Louis, Missouri and Patty (Al) Prosek of Mesa, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill was a graduate of Knox College and studied at DePaul University prior to earning his Master’s degree at Northern Illinois University. He was a mathematics teacher in Wood Dale School District #7 for over thirty years. Bill worked with Project Rise and as a math facilitator at Heartland Community College in his retirement. He was a member of East White Oak Bible Church. Bill was unwavering in his faith and belief in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
