Alicia Perry Obituary (1930 - 2018) - Bloomington, Illinois

Alicia M. Perry, 88, of Normal, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday (April 15, 2018) at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal. She was born January 24, 1930 in San Diego, CA, daughter of Harry H. and Florence Johnson Thompson. She married Richard Hoffman on January 24, 1948 and later married Alton Christopher Perry on May 4, 1974. Surviving are one daughter, Catherine Landreth; three sons, Richard Hoffman, Robert Perry and Joseph Perry; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and one sister, Barbara (Paul) Segobiano, Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Thomas Hoffman and Michael Hoffman. Alicia graduated with honors from San Diego City College with an Accounting degree. She was an accountant for several years before becoming a Forest Ranger in the Angeles National Forest, where she worked for nine years. Alicia moved to Bloomington in 2001 to be closer to her sister, Barbara and her family. Alicia was a Pearl Harbor survivor as her father was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during the attack on December 7, 1941. Alicia enjoyed sharing her recollections of that day and the impact it had on her as a child. Alicia was a member of St. Matthew Episcopal Church, Bloomington. Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the church (1920 E. Oakland Avenue, Bloomington, IL), where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Rev.
