Betty Jo Irby Evelsizer Obituary (1954 - 2017)

Betty Jo Irby Evelsizer passed away peacefully at home at the age of 62. Betty is survived by her husband of 17 years Michael T. Evelsizer, step daughter Elizabeth M Evelsizer her son Brayden M. Evelsizer and her granddaughter Kynlee M Collier all of Bloomington, IL and her brother in law John Milton Evelsizer with with whom she was very close. Her sisters, Sherrie Holly and Sheela Pounds both of Milledgeville, GA, her brothers James (Bubba) Carlo (Rose) of Lansing, MI, (Junior) Irby ( Penny) of Moultrie, GA , Ronnie Irby (Vera) of Greshamville, GA and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Edmonson Jerome Irby her mother, Vera Pounds Stewart and her sister Patricia Kay Lavender. Betty was born in Dublin, Ga to Edmondson Jerome Irby and Vera Pounds Stewart. She married Michael T Evelsizer on July 23 2000 after moving to Bloomington, Illinois. Betty began working for OSF St. Joseph Hospital as a discharge coordinator for over 7 years before retiring on disability. Betty touched everyone she came in contact with her outgoing personality and love for all. She was a generous warmhearted individual who loved going to garage sales and talking to her friends and family here and down home in Georgia which she missed so much. Even with all her medical issues she was always cheerful and caring to others. She enjoyed helping Braydens teachers whenever a class need arose at Bent school. In lieu of flowers, it was Bettys wish that donations be made to Brayden Evelsizer savings account in care of Commerce Bank 1339 E Empire St., Bloomington, IL 61701 There will be no Visitation in Bloomington we will be bringing her ashes to Georgia in the future. Friends and family may stop by the house if they so wish. The family would like to thank OSF Home Health and all the Doctors and Nurses that have taken care of her over the years. And to all her family and friends that she held most dear.
