Beverly J. Frawley Obituary (1926 - 2016)

Beverly J. Frawley, 90, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 5:08 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Chenoa.Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Duane DeMay officiating.? Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal.? Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to OSF Hospice.Bev was born March 21, 1926 in Bloomington, the daughter of John and Margaret Watchinski Walsh.? At the age of 3 months, she was adopted by her paternal aunt, Mary Young, who raised?her.?? Bev married Roy J. Frawley on November 16, 1946 in Bloomington and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2004.She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (David) Ochs of Pontiac, Nancy (James) Pate of Bloomington; two sons, Michael (Julia) Frawley of Missouri and James (Bonnie) Frawley of Lincoln; sixteen?grandchildren and twenty?great-grandchildren; a brother, John Walsh of? Arizona and a sister Helen Sewel of Oregon.She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Austin and Eleanor Leary.Bev was a member of Eastview Christian Church, attended Holy Trinity Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Trinity High School, where some of her best friendships were formed. She worked for many years as a secretary for Owens Oil Company and ICG Railroad, retiring in 1978.Bev always enjoyed her beautiful gardens and took great pride in all the hard work she put into them. She was an avid golfer and a former member of Lakeside Country Club.Bev enjoyed family gatherings, her dogs and the Chicago Cubs.Bev was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
