Carolee E. Pretet Obituary (1936 - 2016)

Carolee E. Kirby Pretet, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2016 at her home in Normal. Her memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal, with Rev. Eric S. Powell officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Roanoke Cemtery in Roanoke at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epiphany Rectory Building Fund, the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to OSF Hospice. She was born July 20, 1936 in Benson, a daughter of Darrell and Alvena Johnson Kirby. Carolee was the beloved wife of Lee R. Pretet and they were married on July 24, 1954 in Benson at St. Johns Catholic Church. He survives in Normal. Also surviving are her children, Keith (Sue) Pretet of Hoffman Estates, Kevin (Linda) Pretet of St. Charles, Kirby (Denise) Pretet of New Lenox and Kara Nelson of Towanda; four brothers, Dennis (Wilburta) Kirby of Bloomington, Ron (Cil) Kirby of Cape Girardeau, MO, Steve (Nancy) Kirby of Las Vegas, NV and Terry (Beverly) Kirby of Lexington; and a sister, Kathy (Lewis) Martin of Bloomington. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Lucy (Jonathan) Dassow, Matthew, Johnathan and Amanda Pretet, Tracie (Jeff) Joncha, Tom (Molly) Pretet, Nicole (Danny) Falco, Colette Pretet and Danielle (Joe) Korte; and five great-grandchildren, Zoey and Hannah Falco, Jack Joncha and Madison and Ian Dassow and soon to be born Korte triplet great-grandchildren (two boys and a girl). She was preceded in death by her parents. Carolees greatest love in life was spending time with her family. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, sewing and her flower gardens. The Pretet family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to OSF Hospice for their loving care.
