Catherine R. Runge Obituary (1923 - 2017)

Catherine R. Runge, 93, of Normal, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal. Her memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A private inurnment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. She was born October 8, 1923 in Bloomington, daughter of John and Rose Bleiceffer Eberwein. She married Raymond F. Runge on March 9, 1946 in Bloomington, he preceded her in death on February 10, 1975. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Arnold; one brother, Andy Eberwein and one sister-in-law, Helen Sieg. Surviving are her children, John Runge of Bloomington, Linda Burks of Normal and Steve (Sherry) Runge of League City, TX and her faithful friend, Judy James of Bloomington. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Lindsay (Jason) Wingate of League City, TX, Stephanie (Wade) Mock and Jessica (Clayton) Jenkins, both of Alvin, TX; three great-granddaughters, Stella Scarlett Wingate and Harper Mock and one sister-in-law, Rosemary Rodman of Bloomington. Catherine was an avid reader and animal lover, she enjoyed wildlife and watching figure skating on television. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
