Craig W. Painter Obituary (1961 - 2016)

Craig W. Painter, 55, of Bloomington, passed away at 7:33 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 211 N. School St., Normal. Private family burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the church.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Painter Family for a memorial fund to be established. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of cremation arrangements.He was born August 16, 1961 in Streator, a son of David W. and Judy McMillin Painter.Surviving are his siblings, Mark (Teresa) Painter of Bloomington and Daniel Painter and Carla Painter, both of Normal; and his nieces and nephews, Tara (Matthew) Frank, Matthew (Erin) Painter, Holli Painter and Kyle Painter. He will also be greatly missed by his great-nephews and great-niece, Caden, Jamison and Landon Frank, Tyler, Jake, Mason and Jackson Painter, Henry Painter and Elisea Painter.He was preceded in death by his parents.Craig enjoyed a long career as the facilities director in healthcare maintenance management at several hospitals and was most recently employed at Luther Oaks in Bloomington. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cabin. He was a lifetime member and supporter of the NRA and the Illinois State Rifle Association as well as a longtime member of the Tremont Sportsmens Club. Craig most treasured any time he was able to spend with his great-nephews and delighted in teaching them how to hunt and fish. A kind man, Craig will be remembered for his compassion toward all people.
