Daisy L. Landers Obituary (1932 - 2017)

Daisy L Landers, 85, of Bloomington, formerly of Downs, peacefully earned her angel wings on December 17, 2017 surrounded by family while listening to her favorite music.Daisy is the daughter of Romeyn and Ethel Van Ostrand. She attended Champaign schools. Sixty years ago on November 29, 1957 she married Donald R Landers whom she met on a blind date while he was a student at the University of Illinois.She is survived by her husband and three children Cindy (David) Mitchell Bloomington, David (Barbara) of Rochester, and Donna (Don) Colclasure Bradenton Florida. She is loved by her six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.She was preceded by her parents, sisters Dorothy and Nina, and infant brother, Clayton.Daisy was very proud of being a direct decedent of three Mayflower pilgrims. Prior to her marriage she was a CNA at Cristi Clinic in Urbana. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher when her children were little. She thoroughly enjoyed her coffee gatherings with her longtime friends, especially when they did their holiday crafts.Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
