Daniel Anthony Schmidt Obituary (1943 - 2014)

Daniel Anthony Schmidt, 70, of Normal, died at 2:37 pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.His memorial mass will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 1209 W. Locust St, Bloomington, IL 61701. Interment will be private. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family with cremation services.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund or the Humane Society of Central Illinois.Dan was born on November 28, 1943 in Bloomington, the son of Theodore "Tibor" and Florence Binnion Schmidt. He married Rita L. Moore on September 12, 1970 in Bloomington. She survives.He is also survived by a brother, Michael Schmidt, a sister, Mary Ann Cook and his two dogs, Toby and Niki.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Patrick Schmidt in infancy and Timothy Schmidt in 2008.Dan had worked at Mennonite Hospital and Bridgestone/Firestone for many years.
