Daniel E. Arendell Obituary (1949 - 2017)

Daniel E. Arendell, 68, of Bloomington, passed away at 9:21 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Essentia Health, Deer River, MN. His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 3-5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to Arnies Army Charitable Foundation. He was born February 26, 1949 in Streator, the son of Lester O. and Marie Rossi Arendell. He married Ann L. Goold on June 1, 1973 in Fairbury. She survives in Bloomington. Also surviving are a daughter, Leslie Arendell of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Randy (Dianne) Arendell of Toluca and Steve (Teresa) Arendell of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dan was a graduate of Toluca High School and Western Illinois University. He retired as a manager in Systems from State Farm Insurance Companies. Dan also co-owned and operated a Christmas tree farm in Fairbury from 1980-2010. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATVs, golfing and sailing. Dan also liked playing cards and time spent wintering in Wickenburg, AZ.
