David M. Holtz Obituary (1963 - 2015)

David M. Holtz, 51, of Peoria, formerly of Bloomington, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Tampa, FL, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Marys Church, Bloomington, with Rev. Ric Schneider officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Cremation arrangements have been accorded. He was born in Bloomington, IL, son of Leland and Nancy Holtz. He married Shelly Briggs on May 9, 1986 in Bloomington. Surviving are his wife, Shelly, of Peoria; two daughters, Ashley (Ted) Primrose and Courtney Holtz, both of Tampa, FL; his parents, Leland and Nancy Holtz of Bloomington; two brothers, Jeff (Gina) Holtz of Bloomington and Dr. Rob (Dr. Christina) Holtz of Dallas, TX; one sister, Karen (Tom) Harris of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews. David worked at State Farm Insurance Company as an insurance agent, last working at his own agency in Washington, IL. He was an avid sports fan and brought fun and laughter to every situation. David was extremely kind and generous and would go out of his way to bring a smile to someones face. He was a loving husband and father and lived his life for his three girls. He will be deeply missed.
