David W. Fryer Obituary (1963 - 2014)

David Fryer, 50, of Normal, passed away at noon Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home.His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with Rev. Roger Pryor officiating. Private family interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be for one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the David Fryer Memorial and all contributions will be used toward his childrens education funds.He was born October 6, 1963 in Bloomington, the son of Gerald W. and Nancy K. Smith Fryer.Surviving are his children, Nathan David Fryer, Ryan Thomas Fryer and Victoria Grace Fryer, all at home; his parents, Gerald and Nancy Fryer of Bloomington; a brother, Michael (Michelle) Fryer and their son, Christopher, of Bloomington; and Karen Daley Fryer, the mother of his children.He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Elaine Fryer; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. David graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Computer Science and was previously employed as an IT Analyst at State Farm Insurance Companies. He was actively involved at Heartland Community Church where he played for worship during church services and participated in many different church groups. David was a talented guitarist and played in many Twin Cities venues for many years. His passions in this earthly life were the Lord, his children and his music.
