Debbie L. Zook Obituary (1959 - 2016)

Debbie L. (Wollenberg) Zook, 56, of Normal, passed away at 5:42 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. A private family service will be held at the funeral home with Rev. William A. Jensen officiating. Entombment will be in East Lawn Mausoleum, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Seedling Theatre, 404 Marian Ave., Normal, IL 61761 or the Zook Childrens Education Fund c/o Prairieland Federal Credit Union, 416 N. Kays Dr., Normal, IL 61761. Debbie was born December 22, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of David L. and Barbara L. Woodward Wollenberg. She married Douglas C. Zook on May 25, 1994 in Bloomington. He survives. She is also survived by four children, Ashley and Samantha Zook of Normal, Stephanie (Dustin) Stone of Bloomington and Sarah (Tom) Atchison of Clinton; her parents, David and Barbara Wollenberg of Normal; five grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, David Wollenberg of Mt. Victory, Ohio, Diana (Kip) Wilson of Cave Creek, AZ, Denise (Todd) Ferguson of Roswell, GA, Dan (Nancy) Wollenberg of Delaware, Ohio, Doug Wollenberg of Normal and Dana (Darren) Kessinger of Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews. Debbie graduated from Normal Community High School in 1978. She worked in purchasing and accounting for many years, including Napa Auto Parts for 15 years, Yazaki for 15 years and Vuteq for a year and a half. Debbie was an avid supporter of the Seedling Theatre, Penguin Project and S.O.A.R. A long time athlete herself, Debbie was a die hard Chicago Cub fan and Ohio State Buckeye fan. Debbie was always on the leading edge in technology and gadgets. She was the go to person in her family for smart phones and computers. Debbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
