Diane G. Housour Obituary (1942 - 2021)

Diane Housour, 78, of Bloomington, Illinois, died at 1:10 p.m., on August 28th, 2021, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Illinois. Diane was born on November 6, 1942, in Staten Island, NY, to William Edison Jr and Effie MacLennon Brigham Moulic. She married Jon Housour on December 21, 1961, in Warsaw, Indiana. Surviving is her husband of nearly 60 years, Jon, and five children, Debra "Dee Dee" (Kevin) Sullivan of Peoria, Brian (Cindy) Housour of Chardon Ohio, Barry (Christine) Housour of Carol Stream, Illinois, Kristi (Scott) McBrayer of Ellsworth, Illinois and Brad (Jenny) Housour of Naperville, Illinois; as well as fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Diane is also survived by her sister, Marion (Allan) Mapel of New Braunfels, Texas, and niece, Monica Mapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Effie; her sister, Phyllis Magnuson of Fishers, Indiana, and her niece, Amy Alexander. Diane devoted her life to her family as the consummate wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She welcomed everyone to her home, always serving deliciously rich food. No one would ever leave her home hungry. Diane will be remembered by those whose lives she touched by her kindness and encouraging words. She had a gift of uplifting everyone she met. She thoroughly enjoyed being in the company of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She thrived upon learning of their adventures and successes. At Diane's request, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services at this time. The family will hold a memorial service on a later date. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Diane's family will miss her every day and but take solace in knowing she is in a better place.
