Dora L. Kelley Obituary (1930 - 2013)

Dora L. Kelley, 82, of Normal, died at 10:40 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at Heritage Health in Normal.Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal with Monsignor Eric S. Powell officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Additional visitation will be for " hour prior to services Friday at the church.Memorials may be made to Epiphany Catholic Church or the Alzheimers Association Greater Illinois Chapter.She was born on December 20, 1930 in Dearborn, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence L. and Pierina R. Casadi Schuler. She married William Francis Kelley on June 25, 1955 in Bloomington. He died on May 11, 2012.Survivors include two sons, William M. (Janet Smith) Kelley, Normal and Kevin (Kim) Kelley, Hudson; four grandchildren, Jacob (Sarah) Kelley, Jessica (Craig) Hoskins, Kelsey Kelley and Maggie Kelley; a sister, Marge (John) Bays of Bloomington; several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.Dora attended Illinois State Normal University and retired from Unit 5, where she served as secretary to the superintendent. She was a charter member of Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal and was also a member of the Alumni Association at Normal Community High School.Doras family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Heritage Health, Normal, for the compassionate care they provided.Dora was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother and friend whose presence will be greatly missed.
