Dr. Marshall E. Werry Obituary (1936 - 2019)

Dr. Marshall E. Werry, 82, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, Normal. Pastor Matt Horine and Marshall's son Arthur will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded. Memorials contributions may be made to Calvary Christian Academy: tuition assistance. Marshall was born July 27, 1936 in Canton, Illinois, the son of Luther and Edith Thompson Werry. He married his high school sweetheart Delores "Dee" Trobaugh on February 9, 1954. He is survived by wife of 65 years and three sons: Dennis G. (Pam) of Mobile, AL, Jeffery A. (Nita) of Bloomington, IL, and Arthur E. (Tricia) of Clinton Twp., MI. Ten grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents. Marshall served in the United States Air Force for 8 years where he served in Texas, New Mexico, Korea, and Germany. He earned degrees from Illinois State University and Northern Seminary. He was a Baptist pastor for over 30 years, serving churches in Germany, Texas, Illinois, and Missouri. After retiring from ministry, Marshall and Dee started a successful company which they operated together until retiring in 2002.
