Duane E. Weber Obituary (1932 - 2014)

Duane Edward Weber, 82, of Bloomington, died at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at Heritage Health in Normal.His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday (8-7-14) at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington with Rev. Jeffrey Windy officiating. A private family interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Wednesday (8-6-14) at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington.Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, Homes of Hope or the charity of the donors choice.Duane was born on May 30, 1932 in rural Normal, the son of Ralph and Clara Barbara Arteman Weber. He married Mary Ann Wood on February 2, 1952 at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Weber of Bloomington; his children, Cathy Weber, Jan (Charlie) Lyden, Lee (Ruth) Weber, Laurie Hansen, Jeff (Jackie) Weber and Angie (Eric) Kern; 17 grandchildren, Christa, A.J., Michael, Bethany, Sarah, Emily, Sarah, Meg, Liz, Philip, Laura, David, Reese, Ryleigh, Grace, Jude and Adeleine; 10 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Kenny, Marilyn Heisler, Terry and Roger.He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Peine.Duane graduated from St. Bede Academy in 1950, attended ISNU and played baseball for both schools. Duane retired from State Farm in their auto division. After retirement, he later was a driver for John Scott Health.Duane was involved in many organizations including CURSILLO, Holy Trinity Choir, St. Marys Choir, he was a Eucharistic minister, he served on both the Catholic Cemetery Board and the Homes of Hope Board, and he was a CCD teacher at Epiphany School. He played baseball in many different leagues including the Corn Belt League. He loved baseball, golf and the ISU Redbirds.The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Crossroads, Luther Oaks and Heritage Health in Normal for all their care and support.
