Earlene Lofton Obituary (1948 - 2016)

Earlene Lofton, 67, of Bloomington, transitioned at 10:25 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2016 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.Her memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington with Rev. Terry Strom officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Monday at the church.Earlene was born February 21, 1948 in Chicago, the daughter of Willie and Mattie Lofton Lash.She is survived by two daughters, Temprest (Russell Bonds) Lofton, Patricia (Walter) Morris, a son, Kozene (Latonya) Lofton; her mother, Mattie Lash, 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Lash and Richard Lash.She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Sandra Lofton, a brother, Larry Lash and a sister, Janella Lash.Earlene worked for the US Postal Service for many years. She had received an associate degree in sign language and took great pride in the fact that because of this, she was able to serve her community as an interpreter for the hearing impaired at the post office.Earlene attended Trinity Lutheran Church with her daughter Temprest and read her bible every night. She was an amazing grace and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Health and OSF Hospice for all their wonderful care during Earlenes illness.Until I be where you be, then we will be againashes to ashes, dust to dust.
