Edward R. Lush Obituary (1948 - 2016)

Edward R. Lush, 68, of Bloomington, formerly of Chicago, died at 12:29 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. There will be a private Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL. To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com. He was born March 13, 1948 in Louisville, KY, son of Charles and Katherine Louise Keith Lush. He first married Wanda Gail DeVault in October of 1970. He later married Mary B. Graham-Buxton in October of 2009. Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Bloomington; his children, Laura (Tony Diana) Lush of Carol Stream and Joseph (fianc Heather Kausak) Lush of Aurora; his step-son, Kevin Graham of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Michael Myla Graham; and his beloved dog and best friend, Roscoe. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne and completing two tours in Vietnam as a load master and side gunner. Edward worked in HVAC as an expert technician and he retired from Luther Village in Arlington Heights in 2005. He was active in Boy Scouts his entire life and was a devout Boy Scout Leader since 1980 in the Chicago-land area. Edward enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found fishing, gardening or camping. He had a passion for animals, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, Michael and Myla, often talking politics and history. Edward will be remembered by his family for his contagious laughter, his great sense of humor and his intelligence; there was nothing he couldnt fix (or rig).
