Garnet Gail Bova Obituary (1936 - 2021)

Garnet Gail Bova, 85, of Normal, passed away at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal. Her funeral will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where the visitation will begin at 12noon. A private Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Central Illinois. She was born February 15, 1936 in Chicago, daughter of Charles Richard and Margaret Camilla Walsh Bruner. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Walter, Charles & Ronald Bruner. Surviving are three children, Doug (Grace) Bova, Sevierville, TN, Camilla "Cami" Kelch, Bloomington and Lisa Bova, Normal. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Bryan (Julie) Bova, Round Lake, Ashley Kelch, Valparaiso, IN, Brittany Kelch, Bloomington, Amy (Garie) Brock, Farmer City and Jacob Bova, Normal and five great-grandchildren, Antonio, Emiliano & Cruz Pelaez, Skylar Brock and Lucia Bova. Gail retired from Country Insurance Company in 1998, where she worked in policy holder services. She enjoyed playing board games, cards and BINGO and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, but her greatest enjoyment came with spending time with children and grandchildren.
