Gary F. Anderson Obituary (1944 - 2017)

Gary F. Anderson, 72, of Towanda, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Heritage Health in Bloomington. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Interment will be at Wiley Cemetery in Colfax immediately following services. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Diabetes Foundation. To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com. He was born June 21, 1944 in Bloomington, son of Oren and Armeda Haynes Anderson. He married Lee Mary Ann Wilson on October 2, 1993 in Bloomington. Surviving are his wife of Towanda; four children, Michele (James) Kerr and Kimberly (Jeff) Ludwig, both of Towanda, Georgieanne (Ken) Fisher of Normal and Chad Krominga of Towanda; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Anderson of Maple Falls, WA and James (Shirley) Anderson of LeRoy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew. Gary was very passionate about farming and was a life-long farmer in the Towanda area, retiring in 2006. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling with his wife, Lee, but his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren.
