Harry Ronald Lush, 69, of Bloomington, died at 4:33 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014 at OSF St Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Marys Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Rev. Ric Schneider officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Wapella. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude-Midwest Affiliate or the Wounded Warrior Project. The family has requested casual dress for the visitation and services.He was born September 4, 1944 in Bloomington, IL, son of John Howard and Pauline Reed Lush. He married Sharon Ledbetter on September 16, 1966 in Amarillo, TX.Surviving are his wife, Sharon, of Bloomington; son, Tony (Martha) Lush of St. Peters, MO and daughter, Janet (Dennis) Lush-Tornow of Bloomington and his three grandchildren, that were his world, Connor, Alayna and Talon. Also surviving are siblings, Ann Lush, Kay (Ron) Sutton, twin brother, Don (Helen) Lush and Judy Lush, all of Bloomington and Rodney (Sharon) Lush of Downs.He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother and one sister, Lois Lush.He was a 1962 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Bloomington. Directly out of high school, Ron served in the United States Air Force, during Vietnam, until 1967.Ron was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in both Bloomington and El Paso and was also a member of SAR (Sons of the American Revolution). He retired from Caterpillar, Inc in 2000 after 30 years. After retiring, he worked seasonally at the IRS.He loved watching Notre Dame football games and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always helping friends and family, doing projects around their houses. He will be deeply missed by many.
