Iris R. Grant, 81, of Bloomington, Illinois died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa, Illinois.She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Skinner Siegelman (Richard) of Austin, TX, son, Brad Markowitz of Los Angeles, CA and daughter, Robin Westacott (Daniel) of Minneapolis, MN and grandchildren, Meghan Denney Martinek (Josh), Taylor Skinner and Stevi Skinner of Austin, TX.Iris was born in Chicago and raised by by Mr. Howard Herbert and Mrs. Mabel Herbert of Broadview, IL (both deceased). She attended Proviso High School and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was first married to Robert Markowitz and she later married to Kenneth Grant, both of Bloomington, IL. Mrs. Grant was widely known for rescuing and caring for stray animals.Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday (12-02-2014) at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington, Illinois. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements.
