Mallory, 79, of Normal, died at 11:07 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at OSF St. JosephMedical Center, Bloomington.Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or to a charity of the donors choice.He was born March 10, 1934 in Chicago, the son of Rhea and Gertrude Mallory.Surviving are two daughters, Judi (Robert) Thomley of Acworth, Georgia and Margie (Jason) King of Normal; and three grandchildren, Lindsey Thomley, Mallory Thomley and David Fairbanks.He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Mallory; and one sister, Betty Schroeder.Jim volunteered with the U.S. Forest Service prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri during the Korean War. He retired from the Eureka Company as a designer/engineer after forty-five years of employment. Jim enjoyed home improvement projects and loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend who will be forever missed.
