Joan E. Schweitzer Obituary (1934 - 2015)

Joan E. Schweitzer, 81, of Bloomington, died at 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.Private memorial service will be held at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Advocate BroMenns Adult Day Care. Schweitzer, he preceded her in death on December 12, 1984. She was also preceded in death by four brothers.Surviving are five sons, Harlan Jr (Pam) Schweitzer of Normal, Mark (Glenda) Schweitzer, Mike (Donna) Schweitzer and Joe (Dawn) Schweitzer, all of Bloomington and Rob (Jackie Kipfer) Schweitzer of Mackinaw. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and one brother, John Jack (Mary Ann) Croke of Bloomington. Joan enjoyed listening to country music, she especially enjoyed Willie Nelson. She also enjoyed watching Lucille Ball, and her crazy antics.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heritage Health, Bloomington, Dr. Jeffrey Hoschek Dr. Jeff and Advocate BroMenn Adult Day Care for the care and support to Joan.
