John C. Morris, 74, of Bloomington, died on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL.A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington, 527 W. Jackson St, Bloomington, IL 61701. Cremation rites have been accorded. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington is in charge of arrangements. Judith Weber on November 18, 1960 in Pontiac. They later divorced. Surviving are two sisters, Marianne Hronek of Bloomington and Michele (Kevin) Pierce of Pontiac. Also surviving are eight nephews, Steve Hronek of West Sacramento, CA, Mike (Wendy) Hronek of Elmhurst, Dave Hronek of Bloomington, Nathan Pierce of Tucson, AZ and Kyle (Katy) Weber of Gilbert, AZ, Charles Deal of Mokena, Chad Weber of Dwight and Stephen Weber Jr. of Pontiac; one niece, Sheila (Jaime) Vargas of New Lenox; four great-nieces, Addison Ann Hronek, Avery Grace Hronek, Chloe Pierce and Keliane Pierce; and many cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Jamie Pierce.John was a United States Army veteran.He started working with his father at age 14 in accounting services in the family business in Pontiac. John received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Illinois State University in Normal and then became a Certified Public Accountant. Successful in his endeavors, John retired from his career as owner/operator and CPA of John C. Morris and Associates, Bloomington.John was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the Normal Rotary Club, and was an historian and collector of Abraham Lincoln mementos and artifacts.He enjoyed his time fishing in Alaska with friends and rooting for his favorite sports teams: St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, U of I Fighting Illini and Notre Dame. John made friends around every corner, and he will be always remembered for his kindness and generosity to others.
