Judith K. Arteaga Obituary (1940 - 2016)

Judith K. Arteaga, 76, of Normal, went home to be with the Lord at 5:21p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at First Assembly of God Church in Normal, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Jose Martinez will officiate. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso at a later date. She was born May 14, 1940, daughter of Harold and Alma Jones Patton. She married Jose L. Arteaga on July 11, 1997. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Danita Punke, Lynn Wahls, Michael (Suzanne) Wahls, Jeff (Carla) Wahls and Becca Campbell; her step-children, Lupita (Luis) Carreno, Alma (Jose) Cervantes, Luis (Karina) Arteaga, Jesus (Martha) Arteaga and Adan Arteaga and Anita Arteaga; 13 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one sister, Jean (Jim) Dunlap. She was preceded in death by one brother, and three sons-in-law. rnJudith worked at Illinois State University for 14 years, retiring in 2004.
