Katherine Massey Stevens Obituary (1960 - 2016)

Katherine Massey Stevens, 55, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at her home.She was born December 31, 1960 in Elmhurst, daughter of Theodore Massey Heite and Gwendolyn Hill Heite. She married John W. Stevens on June 18, 1997 in Funks Grove.Surviving are her husband, John of Bloomington; her mother Gwen Heite of Normal; one sister, Diane Heidi Heite of Normal and one brother, Greg Heite of Bloomington. Also surviving are one niece, Jeanne (Randall) Priddy of TX and one nephew, Steven Lust of MN.She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore, in 1999.Kathy was a 1996 graduate of Illinois State University, where she received her degree in Interior and Environmental Design.Seeking her rightful share of heaven, she entered the Catholic Church as acatechumen sponsored by Shelly Zwadlo of Bloomington. Katherine and her husband were both well received into the Church at the Easter Vigil of 2009.Her memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Historic St. Patricks Catholic Church, and will be celebrated by Father David Whiteside. There will be no visitation, however the family will be receiving friends at the parish hall immediately following the Mass. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Historic St. Patricks Catholic Church of Bloomington. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
