Keith P. Arteman Obituary (1939 - 2015)

Keith P. Arteman, 75, of Bloomington, died at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home with his wife by his side.A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Monsignor Douglas Hennessy officiating. There will be no visitation prior to services, the family will receive friends at the luncheon following the services at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Private inurnment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Catholic High School, attention Scott Vogel or to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, Normal. Easley Stalter on September 2, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV.Surviving are his wife, Eddy, of Bloomington; children, Peter Arteman of Cincinnati, OH, Julie (Matt) Groppi of Danville, Michael Arteman of Bloomington, Ben (Lucinda) Miller of Normal, Scott (Tricia) Stalter of Clearwater, FL and Stephanie (Joey) McAdams of Bloomington and 12 grandchildren, Julian Arteman, Lyndsay Menken, Lauren Groppi, Max, Will Violet Miller, Jessica Stalter, Zach Hocker Jacob Trachsel, Jamison Stalter, Sean Williams Madelyn McAdams. Also surviving are one great-granddaughter, Londyn Menken and one sister, Sharon Burris of Bloomington.He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tami Arteman and Stacey Stalter; his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Shirley Arteman; one grandson, Bennett Miller and a brother-in-law, Bruce Burris.Keith was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was the owner and operator of Artemans TV in Bloomington, a Zenith dealership business that he took over from his father.He graduated from Trinity High School, and was a pitcher of the 1956-57 "Dream Team."rnrnKeith was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and his greatest wish was to see the Cubs win the World Series. He will be remembered locally and nationwide, as the proud owner of the all original, 1966 Hemi Charger, called the "Bloomington Ghost."
