Kelly Joe Dunlap Obituary (1960 - 2016)

Kelly Joe Dunlap, 55, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his home after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family.His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Carmody Flynn Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Oleniczak officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for his daughter, Stevi Dunlap in care of Heartland Bank and Trust.Kelly was born November 24, 1960, the son of Ivan Ike and Anna Lee Dunlap. He married Londa Sue Clark on June 6, 1992 in Bloomington, IL.Survivors include his wife, Londa Dunlap, who has been his number one supporter through everything; one daughter, his Pride, Joy and everything that ever mattered, Stevi Lee Dunlap of Bloomington; his father Ivan Ike Dunlap of Bloomington; and two sisters, Peggy Lee Dunlap of Bloomington, Becky Sue (Tim) Murry, of Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother Anna Lee Dunlap and one brother, Tony Dunlap.Kelly graduated from Bloomington High School in 1979. He was active in boxing and football. He later graduated from Parkland College, having enjoyed doing archeology work mapping out primitive rock shelters in Shawnee National Forest.In Kellys younger days he enjoyed a 2 week family vacation in Kentucky camping and waterskiing every year and cherished all the memories that were created during those times. Later in his life Kelly spent many years coaching the Knockers Youth Football Association.Kelly worked at RP Lumber for 25 years in Bloomington, Il.The family would like to thank OSF Hospice Care for the constant care and compassion. Also a big thanks to dear friends, Alan Stanfield, David Fairbanks, Greg Parker and Sean Rossman for their support and courage through this time in our lives.
