LeRoy Pounds Obituary (1958 - 2017) - Bloomington, Illinois

LeRoy Pounds, 58, of Danville and formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 1:19 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Central Pointe Church of Christ, 406 S. Clinton St., Bloomington, with Larry Johnson officiating. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Pointe Church of Christ. LeRoy was born May 19, 1958 in Chicago, a son of Claude and Annie Clark Pounds. He is survived by his children, Arriana Pounds, LeRoy D. Pounds and LaRon Pounds, all of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and six siblings, Winifred (Joseph) Moore, Marjorie Williams, Kevin (Angela) Pounds, Claudette Elston-Pounds, William Pounds and Gregory Pounds. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bobby Pounds; a brother, Robert Pounds; and a sister, Alice Pounds. LeRoy was a proud American who loyally served his country in the U.S. Army.
