Letha I. Seip Obituary (1940 - 2017)

Letha I. Seip, 77, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:28 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home. Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington and additional visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday. A private interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal. To view her obituary online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com. She was born October 28, 1940 in Taylor, MO, daughter of Charley and Audrey Sharp Peak. She married F. David Seip on June 16, 1962. Surviving are one daughter, Rachel (Don) Jones of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Keegan and Kaden Jones and one brother, Robert (Marlys) Peak of Ark. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Seip on February 7, 2011; one brother, Lloyd Peak and one sister, Ora Lee Gibreal. Letha completed nursing school at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She worked as a registered nurse at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington where she worked for 38 years, working until the time of her death. She was a volunteer with Faith In Action, a faithful member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a former Stephen Minister. Lethas greatest enjoyment came from her family, especially her three grandchildren and took great pride in her work as a nurse. She will be remembered by those who knew her as being a "friend to anyone in need."
