Louise Dietz-Davis, 69, of Bloomington, died at 7:07 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Heritage Health in Normal.A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (3-12-2014) at St. Marys Church in Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Ric Schneider will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. Private inurnment will be held at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marys Church, Bloomington or Illinois Cancer Care. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Linda Dietz and one brother, Bernie Dietz.Surviving are one son, Jeff Thompson of Carlock; one daughter, Elaine (Steve) Smith of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Amanda Hess (Josh), Jessica Thompson, Jax Thompson and Grace Smith and one great-grandchild, Desmond Fish. Also surviving are one sister, Gail (Dennis) Nolan of Bloomington; two brothers, Brian (Ellen) Dietz of Bloomington and Bruce (Mary) Dietz of LaBasheeda, Ireland and many nieces and nephews.She was a 1962 graduate of Trinity High School and a member of St. Marys Church in Bloomington.Louise worked in the office for 50 years at Beer Nuts, Inc. in Bloomington. When she wasnt working, she enjoyed traveling and reading, but especially cherished her time with her grandchildren and her beloved dog, Abby.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gomez and the staff at the Illinois Cancer Care, OSF Hospice,the caring staff at Heritage Health, Normal, to Ann Ripsom for her spiritual leadership, to Jim Shirk for his long-time support and kindness to Louise and to the entire family for their love and support.
