Marilynn J. Geskey, 87, of Bloomington, died at 8:12 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will be two hours prior to services (9 " 11 a.m.). Cremation rites have been accorded. A private inurnment will be at McLean Cemetery, McLean, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, 407 E. Vernon Ave, Normal, IL or First Christian Church, 401 W. Jefferson, Bloomington, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and two sisters.Surviving are one daughter, Kay (Paul) OBrien of Bloomington; two granddaughters, Emily (Jason) Stults of Elkhart, IN and Claire (Christopher) Lantz of Bloomington; two great-grandchildren, Izzy and Jackson Lantz of Bloomington; one sister, Ellen Carpenter of Normal. Marilynn also leaves behind two great-granddogs and two great-grandcats.Marilynn worked at State Farm Insurance Company for many years and later worked for the Penny Saver Newspaper. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Community Cancer Center in Normal, RSVP and at Bent School as a reading tutor.She was a member of First Christian Church, Bloomington, where she was very active and was a former deacon. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed playing in a local Bunco club with her daughter and was formerly active with the Community Players Theater.
