Mary E. and Robert L. Mayol Obituary (1930 - 2014)

Robert L. "Bob" Mayol, 84, and Mary E. Mayol, 83, formerly of Normal, IL, who would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on October 26th, passed away within three months of each other. Mary passed away on July 11, 2014. Robert passed away on October 27, 2014. Bob was born June 10, 1930 in Springfield, IL. He graduated from Hannibal High School in Hannibal, MO and completed CPA courses at LaSalle University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Marshall Islands during the Korean Conflict. He was an accountant for General Telephone of Illinois in Bloomington for 30 years, retiring at age 53. He and Mary moved to Florida and spent many happy years traveling and playing bridge. They both achieved "Life Master" status. Mary was born November 16, 1931 in Hannibal, MO. She also graduated from Hannibal High School. Bob and Mary were married October 26, 1952 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO.They are survived by one son, Mike (Lynda) Mayol; one daughter, Lynell (John) Henneberry; two grandsons, Ben Mayol and Brian (Sheila) Mayol and two great-grandsons, Hunter and Sterling Mayol. Bob is also survived by one younger brother, Wade Manning and Mary is survived by one younger sister, Martha Bush. They are both survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob and Mary had a wonderful life together and will be greatly missed by all who knew them.
