Michael Glenn Miller, 64, of Normal, formerly of Carbondale and Marion, IL, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, went to meet his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday (7-24-14) at Grace Church, Normal with Rev. Ed Scearce officiating. His graveside service will be at Noon on Friday (7-25-14) at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield with full military honors accorded. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday (7-23-14) at Grace Church, 1311 W. Hovey Ave., Normal, IL 61761.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Church.Michael was born on July 21, 1949 in Carbondale, the son of Henry and Genevieve Adams Miller. He married Paula Pulley on June 7, 1968 in Marion, IL.Mike shared his life with Paula, his wife of 46 years, their daughters, Heather (Craig) Grant of Phoenix, AZ and Melanie (Allen) Bozarth of Normal; their grandsons, Devin Barlow, Phoenix, AZ, Zachary and Tyler Bozarth, both of Normal and Carter Grant, Phoenix, AZ; his sister, Joyce Watkins, West Frankfort, IL; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet John Groves; nieces and nephews, Greg (Kim) Groves, Beverly (Jeff) Wunderlin, JoEllen (Brian) Newcomb, Darin Pulley, and Staci (Dave) Loyd; great nieces and nephews, A.J. (Emily) Wunderlin, C.R. (Vanesa) Groves, Caiti Wunderlin, Stephen Richmond, Bryce Pulley, Bailee Pulley, Alli Loyd and Emilie Loyd; and great niece and nephew, Alycia Fenstemaker and Rylan Wunderlin.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Shelby, Otis and Ralph Miller; mother-in-law, Pauline Pulley; father-in-law, Edgar Pulley; brothers-in-law, Gary and Stephen Pulley.After graduating from Carbondale Community High School and United Electronics Institute, Louisville, KY, Mike served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. Mike worked for GTE/Verizon for 30 years before retiring in 2003. He was an active member of Grace Church, Normal, where he enjoyed working the sound booth.Mike and Paula were inseparable and were enjoying their retirement by traveling, attending Southern Gospel concerts, cheering on the basketball Redbirds his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. They had a love for photography, photographing many weddings, family gatherings, and sporting events. But their greatest joy was watching their grandsons participate in soccer, bowling, basketball, football and hockey.Mike was a people person and touched many lives. He lived his life to the fullest with a smile on his face and joy in his heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
