Mildred C. Burke Obituary (1926 - 2018)

Mildred C. Burke, 91, of Bloomington, died at 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Heritage Health in El Paso, IL. Per Mildred's wishes, her body will be donated to science. There will be no visitation or services. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.The family has requested no flowers, please direct memorial contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Bloomington. She was born October 11, 1926 in Bloomington, daughter of August and Ethel Nicholson Kroll. She married Robert Burke on July 20, 1946 in Bloomington, he preceded her in death on March 10, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one brother. Surviving are her children, Valerie (Bill) Smeltzer of Normal, Mary (David) Anderson of Bloomington, Robert (Kathy) Burke of Tampa, FL, Jeffrey (Trudy) Burke of Madera, CA and Patrick (Tracy) Burke of Bloomington. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and one sister, Doris Billick of Orlando, FL.Mildred cherished her family and spent as much time with them as possible. She will be greatly missed.
