Mildred "Jean" Tallon, 86, of Downs, died at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (12-19-2014) at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will be two hours prior to services (11-1p.m). Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Downs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Downs Fire Department, the LeRoy Fire Department or the American Cancer Society. "Chick" Tallon Jr. on October 24, 1948, they had three daughters, Debra, Brenda and Linda.Surviving are her husband, Chick, of Downs; one daughter, Linda Sage of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Brad (Jennifer) Tallon of Mill Spring, NC, Tom (Carrie) Estes and Blake (Danielle) Estes, both of Downs and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Morgan Owen Estes and Stella Raney Tallon. She also leaves behind one brother, William (Mary) Weakley and six sisters, Virginia (the late Delbert) Rengel, Lillian (Fred) Thoman, Shirley (Melvin) Niepagen, Peggy (the late Wendell) Niepagen, Bonnie (the late Don) Slaughter and Lynn (Gary) Stewart and her faithful companion, her dog, Sugar.She was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Tallon and Brenda Estes and three sisters, Frances (Kenny) Burkhart, Betty (Ralph) Schnieder and Josephine (Shelden) Bates.Jean enjoyed gardening, fishing at Fox Lake and had a love for birds, especially cardinals, but her greatest love came with taking care of and spending time with her family, friends and her daily coffee drinkers.
