Nancy F. Hughes Obituary (1934 - 2015)

Nancy F. Hughes, 80, of Normal, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal. Her graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. at Blooming Grove Cemetery, McLeansboro on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. There will be no local visitation or services. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Advocate BroMenn Hospice, Normal, IL. She was born June 16, 1934 in Visalia, CA, a daughter of Clifford and Ollie Grace Anthony Shipley. She married Edwin Earl Hughes on December 31, 1958. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond Shipley. Surviving are one daughter, Kathleen Imig of Normal; two brothers, Clifford Hughes of GA and Edwin Hughes of Downs. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jason, Elizabeth, Laura, Megan, Noah, Lindsey and Alex and three great-grandchildren. Nancy enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, and would often be found curled up reading a good book with her four-legged friend, her cat, Angel. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
