Nathaniel Alexander Peña Obituary (1995 - 2018)

Nathaniel Alexander "Nate" Pena, 22, of Bloomington, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 in Bloomington. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church, Normal, where visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a memorial fund for Nate's children, Neako and Kashton Pena, c/o CEFCU, PO Box 61656-1715. Surviving are his parents, Stacy Sweeney of Normal and Meshach (Holly Payne-Moore) Pena of Bloomington; his two sons, Neako Alexander Pena and Kashton N. Pena, both of Bloomington; two sisters, Gabrielle Sweeney of Jackson, TN and his twin-sister, Natalie Pena of Normal; one niece, Emma and three nephews, Hayden, Jaxon and Michael. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Larry and Pat Sweeney and paternal grandparents, Jesse and Bertha Pena, all of Bloomington; paternal great-grandmother, Gilberta Martinez of Bloomington and paternal great-grandfather, Jesus Pena of Texas; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his companion, Brianna Watkins of Bloomington and the mother of his children, Turquoise Hawkins of Normal. He attended Chiddix Junior High School in Normal and Bloomington High School. Nate was a full-time dad and a very proud father; his boys were his everything. He also enjoyed collecting shoes and hats. He will be fondly remembered for his contagious smile, his unforgettable dimples and his big heart.
