Ollan E. Coyle Obituary (1934 - 2019)

Ollan E. Coyle, 85, of Odell, passed away at 7:14 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Northshore Skokie Hospital. His graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 5 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Memorials in Ollan's name may be made to a veteran's organization of the donor's choice. Ollan was born April 17, 1934 in Farmer City, the son of Fred W. and Letha Dibble Coyle. He married Mary J. Beauford on August 26, 1954 in Peoria. She died on March 12, 2012. Survivors include a daughter, Janet (Jeff) Curry of Bloomington, two sons, Mark (Sue) Coyle of Naperville and Ron (Cindy) Coyle of Lemont; four grandchildren, Christopher (Paola) Coyle, Kelly (Teo) Tanase, Robert (Laura) Coyle and Luke (Kathryn) Coyle; two great-grandchildren, Reid and Alyce Coyle; and one sister, Karen (Chuck) Goben of Indiana. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Ollan received a master's degree from Illinois State University. He taught at Washington High School from 1959-1968. He enjoyed fishing, boating and water skiing. In the later part of his life, Ollan enjoyed spending time on his property in rural Odell.
