Patricia Jean Swearingen Obituary (1947 - 2016)

Patricia Jean Swearingen, 68, of Downs, passed away at 3:33 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at her home.Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with Rev. Gary Hinegardner officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Rick Swearingen.She was born February 27, 1947 in Bloomington, a daughter of George Edward and Edith Marie Schaefer Hamblin. She married Richard Swearingen.Surviving are her husband, Rick; a daughter, Susan (Orville) Fish of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Colton Carter and Braxton Hart; three sisters, Verl Weger, Ruth Harrison and Linda (Jim) Edwards, all of Bloomington; and two brothers, Gordon Hamblin and John (Shirley) Hamblin, both of LeRoy.She was preceded in death by her son, David Hart; and a sister, Gerri Bayne.Pat retired from Eureka Williams after thirty-three years of employment. She enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time on her front porch swing.
