Penny E. "Frances" Bowling Obituary (1938 - 2014)

Penny E. "Frances" Bowling, 76, of Bloomington, Illinois passed away peacefully at 3:48 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2014 at her home. Her memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Carmody Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Rev. Neri Greskoviak officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Cremation rights have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donors choice. Penny was born June 13, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN, to Donna Newman Wavinak and Albert Records, Sr. She married William G. Bowling, Sr. on Oct 6, 1956. He went to sit by the Lord on February 15, 2004. She is now with him and the Lord in heaven with no more pain. She is preceded into ever-lasting life by her parents, 4 brothers: Doug Wavinak, Tom Wavinak, Dick Wavinak, and Albert Records whom all resided in Minnesota; and, 1 sister Donna Inada whom resided in Hawaii. Surviving include 2 daughters, Cindy (David) Singley, Towanda, IL and Wendy (Ronald) Bartlett, Bloomington, IL; 2 sons Scott Bowling, Bloomington, IL and William (Susan) Bowling, Jr., Lisle, IL; 1 daughter-in-law Dawn (Kirk) Dennis, Heyworth, IL; 6 grandchildren; Jeremy Bowling, Illinois, Ayrielle (Frederick) Ehlers, Maryland, Alan Bowling, Illinois, Torree (Justin) Steve, Illinois, Brandon Singley, Illinois, Camie (Mike) Bartlett-Cross, Louisiana; 7 great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Cameron Bowling, Alexander, Madyson, and Aleyna Ehlers, Addyson and Teegan Steve; several nieces and nephews throughout the United States and 1 cousin Doris Gish, Minnesota. Before her illness, Penny was an avid volunteer with her daughters Girl Scout activities and her sons sports events. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in school activities and grow up to be responsible adults. She worked many jobs, but she most enjoyed the years at the Bloomington Normal Transit System. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dawn and Kirk Dennis and Mary Fannin for their loving care and kindness during her illness. The family would also like to thank all Advocate Hospice staff with their help during this time. A very special thank you goes to Alan Bowling and Brittany Klein for their help and caregiving, making it possible for Penny to stay in her home during her illness. She was very appreciative of this and said so every day. She will be missed by all, but knowing she is in Heaven with God and her loving husband looking down on us every day will ease our sorrow in her passing. The Lord will give us the strength to go on without Penny.
