Rusty McGuffin Obituary (1942 - 2013)

Ruscella J. "Rusty" McGuffin, 70, of Bloomington, formerly of Stanford, died peacefullyat 9:35 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at her home following a courageous battlewith cancer. She was surrounded by her family.Her memorial service will be at 3:00 pm, Tuesday (8-6-13) at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Stanford.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal.She was born on October 23, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Margaret Ashcraft Friday. She married Alton "A.D." McGuffin on December 26, 1961 in Salinas, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2013.She is survived by one daughter, Susan (Michael) Kessler, Bloomington; two grandsons, Bradley and Greg Kessler, both of Bloomington; one sister, Jo Ellen Young, Bloomington; a sister-in-law, Mary Friday, Rochester.She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bob Friday.Rusty was the consummate wife, mother and grandmother and was devoted to her family. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
