Samuel R. "Sam" Kelch Obituary (1942 - 2015)

Samuel R. Kelch, 72, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:53 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.His memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Interment will be private.Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donors choice.Sam was born November 7, 1942 in Morris, the son of Charles and Leona Leslie Kelch. He married Margo Burns on December 9, 1961 in Bloomington. She survives.He is also survived by two sons, Sam Kelch, Jr of Normal and Curtis (Ann) Kelch of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Jessika, Kaitlin and Jared Kelch and Ashley and Brittany Kelch; three sisters, Judy Felth of Normal, Karla (Gary) Kloft of Florida and Debbie (Jim) Smith of Pekin; many nieces and nephews; and his dog and best friend, Missy.He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Linda Kelch.Sam was a 1960 graduate of Bloomington High School. He was a baker and retired from Purity Sunbeam in Bloomington after many years. He was past president of the Bakers and Confectionary Union. He was also past president of Tri-Lakes Sportsmans Club in Bloomington. Sam was an avid woodworker. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
