Thomas M. Deighan, 58, of Bloomington, died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at his home.Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Epiphany Catholic Church,Monsignor Eric S. Powell officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 2,2013at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal or University of Illinois College of Law, Urbana. Roth on September 27, 1980 in Danville. Surviving are his wife, Marti of Bloomington; two sons, Michael and Patrick Deighan, both of Bloomington and his mother, June E. Deighan of Bloomington. Also surviving are three sisters, Kathleen (Michael Blankshain) Deighan of Northfield, Karen (David Skelding) Deighan, MD of River Forest and Jennifer (Donald Knapp) Deighan of Bloomington; one brother, Christopher Jay (Nancy) Deighan of Warner Robins, GA and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas in 2000.Tom was a 1973 graduate of Normal Community High School and attended the University of Illinois in Urbana, where he received his Bachelors Degree of Political Science in 1977 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity and received the Bronze Tablet Achievement. In 1980, Tom graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law.He was an attorney for 34 years at State Farm, last working on Monday (Nov. 25). He was a member of the Illinois and American Bar Associations. Tom was also a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal.Tom loved reading, watching sports; especially the St. Louis Cardinals, walking "Gracie" their family dog, weight lifting, exercising and playing tennis. He always looked forward to and enjoyed the familys vacations in Florida.
