Wanda Louise Gehrt, 92, of Normal, passed away peacefully at 7:37 a.m. on Saturday (Aug 9, 2014) at her home.The family will receive friends at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 5 Thomas Dr, Normal, IL 61761. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Gehrt Jr on July 15, 1945 in Shreveport, LA. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1988. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine, Emily and Orma.Surviving are her sons, Tim Gehrt of Normal and Fred Gehrt III of Punta Gorda, FL; two grandsons, Kevin Gehrt of Solon, OH and Eric Gehrt of Bartlett and two great-grandsons, Jake and Alex Gehrt. Also surviving are her brother, Delmar Davis of Pekin and her sister, Donna McDonald of Decatur.Wanda worked for 45 years at State Farm Insurance Co., Bloomington, retiring in 1987 as an Executive Secretary.
