Warren L. Davis Obituary (1936 - 2014)

Warren Leslie Davis, 77, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life on June 5, 2014 in Heyworth.Warren was born on July 21, 1936 in San Jose, Illinois, the son of Leslie Warren and Kathryn Tammaeus Davis. He married Barbara Jane Rush on January 5, 1968 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2012.Warren is survived by six children, Les (Brenda) Davis of Gillette, WY, Beth (Mike) Goeken of Bloomington, Lisa (Tom) Kaiser of Peoria, Bradley (Jennifer) Weston of Normal, Breann (Tom) Neal of Hudson and Barbie (Kevin Hammer) Davis of Heyworth; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Warren graduated from Pekin High School. He owned and operated auto dealerships in the Peoria area and was involved in every aspect of the car business. He was an avid car enthusiast and recalled events throughout his life by what car he owned at that time. Warren"s last employment was by Augie Busch, Jr as groundskeeper at the Anheuser-Busch retreat center for ten years.Warren enjoyed boating, camping, drag racing cars and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was an active member of the Pekin Boat Club. He was also an active member of Faithbridge Church.Before his wife Barbara passed away, Warren was her primary care giver for 8 years providing great encouragement and strength.Warren mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and just being a grandpa. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Missouri. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family with local arrangements.Memorial contributions may be made to Faithbridge Church in Osage Beach, Missouri.
